Giving back
Starlight’s mission is to brighten the lives of seriously ill children, teenagers and their families.
Established in 1988, Starlight works closely with health professionals to develop programs that have a positive impact on seriously ill children, adolescents and their families. From one Starlight Wish granted 30 years ago, Starlight is now recognised as an integral part of the Australian healthcare system. Starlight is the broadest reaching children’s charity helping kids of all ages with any illness, injury or disability right across the country.
From Captain Starlight and the Starlight Express Rooms to Livewire and our Healthier Futures Initiative, Starlight helps brighten the lives of sick kids everywhere across Australia.
Starlight’s hospital and community programs embrace the principles of ‘positive psychology’ where fun plays an important role in improving overall wellbeing. Through the power of fun and play, Starlight helps break the relentless cycle of pain and trauma for seriously ill children and their families.

Below is an example of one of the projects we have been involved in with The Wesley Mission. The video demonstrates the significant impact that giving back to the community can have on just one family.
Sydney’s largest flashmob allowed us to showcase our dancing skills. This important endeavour by the Rotary Club of Sydney provides programs designed to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of young people.
